Our Veterans Advantage Medical Evacuation Plan is available for all Veterans Advantage Card members, delivering valuable benefits in the event of an emergency:
- Provides coverage for up to $50,000 of emergency medical evacuation related expenses when you are traveling more than 100 miles from your home, 365 days a year, as long as you are a Veterans Advantage member. There are no additonal charges or fees for this coverage.
- Covers transportation to a licensed medical facility in your home country for all injuries and illnesses that warrant evacuation.
- One-way airfare to your residence is provided for dependent children traveling with you, so they will not be left behind.
- Round-trip flight coverage is provided for someone of your choosing to get to your hospital, if you are a patient for more than seven days at a hospital more than 100 miles from your home.
- Includes travel assistance services available 24/7 worldwide.

Eligibility and Coverage
As a Veterans Advantage Card member, our Veterans Advantage Emergency Medical Evacuation benefit covers you every time you travel more than 100 miles from home, with coverage valued at up to $50,000.
“Next of kin” family members, including
your mother, father, son, daughter, and brother or sister, are also eligible
for coverage in our emergency travel plan. To activate their coverage, they must be enrolled with their own Veterans Advantage Card membership.
Family members who reside in a member’s household,
such as a spouse or dependent children, are eligible for coverage through
our specially priced family card for household dependents.
Travel Assistance Services
When the unexpected happens, it is great to have someone there to assist you and your family. Our benefits provider is AIG, the largest public insurance company in the U.S. They will make all the necessary arrangements for you in the event of an emergency, plus provide valuable travel assistance as part of your plan, including:
General Travel Assistance: advice and help contacting consulates, government agencies, translators, and other service providers to help with travel-related problems.
Emergency Message Center: you can leave or receive messages from anywhere in the world to facilitate communications needed during an emergency.
Pre-Departure Services: so there are no last minute surprises, get help with immunization requirements, appropriate medical exams and treatments, passport and visa requirements, weather, and travel hazards.
Lost Baggage/Passport Services: advice on lost or delayed baggage, or replacement of a lost passport, and notification of appropriate authorities for a lost passport.
Insurance Coordination: help completing insurance and medical claim forms, filling out any foreign paperwork, verifying insurance coverage.
Evacuation & Repatriation: if an unforeseen medical emergency requires evacuation to a treatment facility, our provider will coordinate medical emergency evacuation or repatriation of bodily remains, if needed.
Travel Medical Emergency Services: when a medical problem occurs, our provider will help obtain local medical care, monitor the quality of the hospital treatment, maintain daily contact between local physicians providing your care, and personal physicians, family, employer, and others, provide medical records, and more.
Emergency Cash: coordinate getting you the cash needed in an emergency, through banks, consulates, hotels and Western Union.
Legal Assistance: help with arranging local attorneys, embassies, consulates, bail, cash advances, plus communications between you, your family, and your employer.
Travel Agency Services: help from with everything from replacing lost or stolen tickets to assistance making needed hotel reservations.
